Claes Bäckman joined the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE on 1 November as an Advanced Researcher. His research focuses on how housing and mortgage markets affect household savings, portfolio choice, and housing decisions. Claes received his PhD from Copenhagen Business School, and he has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Lund University and as an Assistant Professor at Aarhus University. His work has been published in the International Economic Review and Regional Science and Urban Economics.
